Does Liquibase Backup Any Data?

Question:

Does Liquibase back up any data when deploying changesets?

Answer:

No, Liquibase does not back up any data before deploying any changesets. 

Liquibase does have a rollback feature to revert schema structure changes, but any changeset that either removes or deletes data either intentionally (such as specifically deleting a row from a table) or indirectly (such as a DROP TABLE statement) will delete the data.

We recommend that you run the update-sql command and verify what is going to run on the database before executing.
